Submitting assignments is a crucial part of your journey as an IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) student. Assignments not only carry weight in your final grade but also deepen your understanding of the course. Many students, however, are confused about where and how to submit them—especially in the era of both online and offline submission options.
This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process.
✅ Step 1: Understand the Assignment Submission Deadline
- Assignments are usually submitted twice a year, depending on your session (January or July).
- For June TEE: Submit by 31st March
- For December TEE: Submit by 30th September
- Check your Programme Guide and Regional Centre (RC) website for exact dates.
📍 Where to Submit IGNOU Assignments?
Depending on your regional centre’s current policy, submission can be done in two ways:
1. Offline Submission
- Submit handwritten assignments physically at your Study Centre.
- Collect an acknowledgement slip with the date and seal.
- File assignments in separate files (one per course), and attach the cover page.
2. Online Submission
Many regional centres now accept assignments via email or Google Forms. Here’s how:
- Visit your Regional Centre’s website.
- Look for links like “Assignment Submission Portal” or “Assignment Guidelines“.
- Submission is typically done via:
- Google Form links (course-wise)
- Official email IDs designated by your RC
- Upload scanned PDFs of handwritten assignments.
- Use proper naming format: EnrollmentNumber_CourseCode.pdf
